The member representing Ondo East and West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Dr. Abiola Makinde is set to embark on the construction of a moden amusement park and a zoo in Ondo Kingdom.
The project, which is set to be the first of it’s kind on the community and it’s environs is will be yet another landmark achievement for the politician who had recently completed and commissioned a library in the community for public use.
The project tagged “Ondo City Children Amusement Park and Zoo” is projected to have tremendous positive impacts on social and educational development of children growing up in the community.
Speaking on what influenced him to embark on the project, Honourable Makinde described how the desire to ensure that children in the community have equal access to social and educational resources like their colleagues in other communities and states drove him to make a decision to have the project in the community within a short period of time.
He said “This project was borne out of my observation that children rarely have places to have fun like their peers in other cities. As adults, we have several fun places to catch fun and also relax.
“In no time, I hope to complete this edifice as it would not only serve as a fun place for our children but also form a critical part of their education.”
Honourable Makinde was over the weekend honoured with the Chieftaincy title of the Atunluse of Ondo kingdom by the paramount ruler of the kingdom, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, Jilo III, on the occasion of his 70th birthday and the celebration of his 17th year on the throne.
