The Ondo State chapter of the Forum of Retired Heads of Local Government Administration has commended the state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for appointing competent and experienced professionals to the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission.
In a statement jointly signed by its Acting Chairman, Pastor Dipo Olajide, and Acting Publicity Secretary, Comrade Adetona Aderoboye, the forum said the appointments reflected the governor’s commitment to strengthening local government administration and ensuring efficient service delivery across the state’s 18 local government areas.
The newly constituted commission is chaired by Pastor Segun Ayerin, while Dr Bunmi Eniayewu, Mr Ogbaro Oyerinde, Mrs Ronke Ojo and Mr Alonge Niyi Dennis serve as full-time members.
The forum congratulated the chairman and members of the commission, describing their appointments as timely and well considered, particularly in view of the pivotal role of local governments in advancing grassroots development.
It expressed confidence that the new leadership would draw on its wealth of experience, knowledge and professional expertise to enhance local government administration and improve service delivery at the grassroots.
According to the forum, effective and professionally managed local governments are indispensable to the advancement of grassroots development, the provision of social services and the promotion of community welfare.
The retired local government administrators urged the chairman and members of the commission to uphold the principles of professionalism, fairness, transparency and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The forum also pledged its support and readiness to contribute its experience and institutional knowledge whenever necessary, emphasising that retired public servants still have valuable roles to play in strengthening public administration and preserving continuity in governance.
It further commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for recognising the importance of experience and competence in constituting the new leadership of the commission.
The forum wished the chairman and members a successful tenure and urged them to work closely with local government administrators and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and foster meaningful development at the grassroots
