The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas has confirmed the death of one of its members, Junior Pope who was involved in a boat accident.
He made the confirmation in the early hours of Thursday, April 11, 2024 on his Instagram handle where he announced the demise of the actor who had been battling for his life since he was rescued from the accident.
Emeka Rollas, who had previously announced that Junior Pope was alive, revealed that he shared the previous news out of excitement when they discovered that the deceased was moving his fingers.
He added that despite best efforts from two hospitals to revive Junior Pope, they could not achieve their aim as the actor gave up the ghost.
He also revealed that another corpse has been identified while three other bodies were yet to be retrieved from Anam River where the tragic incident took place.
Junior Pope and his colleagues were on their to a movie location when their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra state.
