Employees of the Osun state judiciary have announced the commencement of an indefinite strike action to address the decisions of the police to maltreat their members who were protesting at the High Court in Osogbo.
The police are alleged to fire tear gas at the protesting workers and journalists at the High Court entrance located at Oke-Fia area of Osogbo on Wednesday.
The Chairman, Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Osun Chapter, Gbenga Eludire disclosed the refusal of the state hierarchy to listen to the demands of members of the union is not acceptable.
He said “Following the action of the police and the attitude of the Chief Judge, I, Comrade Gbenga Eludire, hereby ordered that workers in the sector should withdraw their service till further notice.”
