The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced an increment in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as Petrol.
This increment was effected as the company hiked the pump prices of the commodity from N537 to N617 naira Per Litre at it’s stations. The price of the essential commodity has changed at some filling stations operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in Abuja on Tuesday morning.
Independent oil marketers across the country have also indicated that their price will have to change because of the hike effected by the NNPC Limited. They added that the NNPC Limited is still the major importer of PMS into the country and a change in their pump price will have impacts on other oil marketers.
The increment in the price of petrol has become a regular feature since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidy payment which gave oil marketers across the country the freedom to sell their products at higher costs without the government subsidizing the commodity for the masses.
