Premier League giant, Liverpool Football Club were made to work really hard before they earned a pulsating 2-1 victory over Fulham in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final clash at Anfield.
They Reds, who were the favourites went down early in the match as a defensive error created an opportunity for Fulham’s Andreas Parreira in the box. He picked it Willian who benefitted from another error by another Liverpool defender which allowed him fire a shot that sailed into the home side’s net.
Liverpool FC dominated the match and pushed for an equalizer but could not breach Fulham’s defense despite the chances created as they went into the half-time break a goal behind their visitors.
The Second half resume with the Reds firing on all cylinders as they desperately search for an equalizer. Desperate for a change, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp brought on Uruguayan forward, Darwin Nunez and Dutch forward, Cody Gakpo and benefitted from the decision.
Darwin Nunez provided the assist as Curtis Jones equalized in the 68th minute and Cody Gakpo scored the winner three minutes later as Darwin Nunez provided another assistant to the excitement of the Anfield crowd.
Liverpool take the 2-1 lead to Craven Cottage where they will need to avoid defeat to book their place in the final match where they will face either Chelsea or Middlesbrough.
