The chief Imam of Uso, a community in Owo Local government area of Ondo state, Alhaji Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The cleric was reportedly working on his farm on Saturday when the unknown gunmen abducted him.
A family member confirmed that the kidnappers had contacted the family but yet to demand for ransome as at the time of filing in this report.
Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami who confirmed the incident added that security operatives and local vigilantes are already searching for the abducted cleric.
She said “At about 6pm today (Saturday), a report was made at Uso Divisional headquarters, that the Chief Iman of USO went to his farm in the morning and did not return, he was later traced to the farm by his people, they saw his phone and his vehicle intact but couldn’t find the man, the DPO and his men with local vigilantes are currently in the bush to trace the whereabouts of the man.”
