Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress have stunned the world after claiming an upset against top ranked team, Australia in their opening match of the Olympics Women’s Basketball competition.
The D’Tigress led by Coach Rena Wakama recorded a memorable 75-62 victory over their much fancied opponents who are currently ranked third best basketball nation in the world.
The victory over the Australian women basketball team marked the team’s first victory at the Olympics in twenty years and their second overall.
Meanwhile, the D’Tigress will be going up against host nation France in their next match with a quarter-final ticket up for grab.
