The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested 48 (Forty-eight) suspected internet fraudsters and an herbalist for offences bordering on conspiracy and obtaining under false pretence in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
The suspects were arrested upon credible intelligence on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at various locations in Lokoja over the alleged involvement in duping unsuspecting persons of their money and assets over the internet.
Meanwhile, the herbalist who is believed to be a spiritual godfather of internet fraudsters, was arrested by men of the commission with various charms.
Items recovered from the suspects include ten exotic cars, two motorcycles, eleven laptops, eighty-three mobile phones and different kinds of charms.
The suspects, all male are between the ages of 17 -34 will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.
