He said “Today, in line with our administration’s development agenda on Infrastructure and industrialization, I commissioned Ekiti 3.6MW Independent Power Project (IPP), the first and only utility-scale generating facility in Ekiti State, significantly boosting our energy availability by at least 2MW.

“The Independent Power Project is designed to combat electricity shortages in Ekiti State and will serve public institutions like the Government House Complex, Governor’s Office, State Secretariat complex I & II, EKSUTH, Ekiti State University, and street lights in Ado-Ekiti. It will also serve Interested private entities based on payment arrangement.

“A few weeks back, we also undertook similar intervention in the power sector, by restoring electricity to some towns in Ekiti East and Ayekire LGA and Gnenuin LCDA, as well as reconnection of Ikogosi, Erijinyan, and Ipole-Iloro axis back to the National Grid, marking our commitment to delivering reliable power and fostering development across Ekiti State.

He also used the opportunity to invite investors into the state as he declared that the state is happy to welcome them and play its own roles effectively to aid their success.

“This is in line with our vision of positioning Ekiti State as number destination of choice for work, business, and leisure. Ekiti is open for business and companies and investors are invited to explore opportunities that abound within our state, leveraging the improved energy infrastructure for mutually beneficial partnerships.

“I want to appreciate all the stakeholders, especially, our partners, Fenchurch Power Ltd for the timely delivery of this project, and our officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities for a job Well done.”
