The Ondo Prestige Lions Club has bestowed the Lions International ICON Award on a former President of Ondo Ekimogun Youths, Comrade Eric Famogun.
The award ceremony which was held at Afinju Hotel, Arigbabola Street, Ondo had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life who are making positive impacts on humanity through their various endeavours.
The award bestowed on Comrade Eric Famogun was in recognition of his exemplary leadership, humanitarian service and contributions to community development, particularly his efforts in peace building and youth engagement.
During his tenure as youth president, Eric Famogun took steps which led about 2000 youths of the community to the Palace of the Osemawe, where they publicly renounced cultism and the warring factions embraced peace.

This remarkable initiative has earned him several awards, but the Lions International ICON Award is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honours, reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to service and made great impact.
Presenting the award, the District Governor commended Comrade Eric Famogun for his steadfast dedication to youth empowerment, grassroots initiatives, social development, and, most importantly, his peace building efforts among young people.
The foundation Comrade Eric Famogun laid continues to resonate positively, inspiring different youth groups to prioritize peace and unity in their activities.
In his response, delivered on his behalf by the President of Ekimogun Youths Connect, Comrade Famakinwa Lucaskakaki, Comrade Famogun expressed deep gratitude to the Lions Club for the recognition.

He dedicated the award to everyone who supported his vision, past and present, and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing initiatives that will further improve lives and strengthen peace within the community.
