Nigeria’s U20 male football team, the Flying Eagles are set to commence their quest for glory at the 2023 FIFA U20 world cup in Argentina tomorrow.
The team led by veteran coach, Ladan Bosso will be hoping they can be the first team to win the elusive trophy for the country after so many unsuccessful attempts.
The Flying Eagles will be hoping for a good start when they face the Dominican Republic at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas (Mendoza) tomorrow before they trade tackles with European powerhouse, Italy and five times winners of the championship, Brazil.
The Ladan Bosso led side had a good preparation for the tournament in Colombia where they were unbeaten in their friendly matches.
Coach Ladan Bosso admitted that the level of preparations they had will go a long way in helping his team engage all the teams they will be facing in the tournament comfortably.
He said “we thank the NFF leadership for organizing such a good test for the team. I am happy with the result. This will bolster the team mentally and psychologically for the World Cup starting in a few days. The match has provided us with a stiff test and has also strengthened us for the big task ahead,”
“we are focused on the big challenge ahead which is to put up a creditable performance that will match the pedigree of our country at this championship. Our ultimate target is to have a good campaign and with this result, we will be very ready for our first match against the Dominican Republic on Sunday.”
