Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has commissioned an ultra modern bus terminal in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.
The project which was started by the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi was completed by the current administration and commissioned on Thursday.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries which included the immediate past Governor of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi who was there to witness the commissioning of the edifice.
Governor Oyebanji appraised the building and commissioning of the bus terminal as a sign of progress made in the state through the mantra of shared prosperity.
He said “The ultra modern edifice was started by Dr Fayemi administration in 2021 as one of the legacy projects. It was completed by my administration in line with our continuity and shared prosperity mantra.
“I am particularly exited to have our leader and immediate past Governor of the state around to commission the project which is design as part of the urban renewal project of our administration.”
He added that the bus terminal will be a game changer in the development of transportation in the state and a pathway to economic growth.
“The bus terminal represents a strategic investment in our transportation infrastructure as it is a catalyst for economic growth. This is also a testament to our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents and making Ekiti State a hub of progress and opportunity, alleviating traffic congestion around business district.
“I want to appreciate everyone who contributed to the realization of this project, I also urge our drivers and transport owners who are the main users of the bus terminal to make adequate use of the facility. I look forward to the positive impact the bus terminal will bring to our dear state.”
