Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has declared curfew in Orolu & Irepodun Local Government areas of the state over a land dispute between two communities in the state.
The information was conveyed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment in the state, Hon Kolapo Alimi who revealed that the order is to enforce law and order in the area.
Governor Adeleke imposed the curfew on Ilobu and Ifon communities after a communal clash over a land dispute. The curfew begins immediately in the affected local governments areas between 8 pm and 6 am.
Human and vehicular movement are restricted during the curfew till further notice to forestall destruction of lives and properties during this period over the land dispute.
Governor Ademola Adeleke sued for peace between these two local governments and warned that anyone caught wandering or moving around during the curfew period will be arrested and prosecuted appropriately.
