Actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has debunked rumours making waves that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
In a video circulating online, Johnson clarified that although she had of cancer scare, she is cancer-free.
She appreciated fans who reached out to her assuring them of her wellbeing.
The actress said “Thank you so much for all of you who have been calling and sending messages and prayers. But I do not have cancer. I noticed that a clip from my TV show, ‘Mercy’s menu’ has been flying around and it was a cut clip.
“I said I had a cancer scare. It means I had this swelling on my neck and my doctors thought it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroids.
“I am perfectly fine and I do not have cancer. The clip was completely misunderstood.”
In a now-viral video clip the actress was earlier seen recounting how she faced a cancer scare that required surgery to remove her thyroid.
She described the period as one of the most challenging of her life, particularly because she was caring for a six-month-old baby at the time.
Her reaction follows widespread rumour on social media platforms that the Nollywood actress is suffering from cancer because of her weight loss.
