A 53-year-old farmer, Mr. Ohiremen Odeh has been murdered by kidnappers at Ijagba community in Ose local government area of Ondo state.
The deceased who was abducted alongside his son on their way to their farm was reportedly murdered over his refusal to trek into the forest with his abductors.
The kidnappers reportedly held the son in captivity until the sum of N400,000 was paid for his release.
The son, Isaac Odeh described how he was abducted alongside his father on their way to their farm and the torturous journey they were forced to embark upon which led to his father’s death.
Isaac also described how he never his father had been murdered until after he was released by the criminals after ransom had been paid to them.
He said “My father could not run. They tied our hands and took us across a river. But my father could not pass through. So, they took me along. It was when I was released after we paid N400,000 ransom that I knew my father was killed.
He added that “The kidnappers were Fulanis, but one spoke Yoruba.”
