A former President of Ondo Youths, Comrade Eric Famogun has advised Ondo youths on the necessary steps to take before the commencement of the proposed ten days #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria nationwide Protest.
He gave this advice on Sunday while interacting with youths on issues surrounding the proposed ten days nationwide protest.
Eric Famogun said “as far as we know, protest is our fundamental human right, a way for the people to express their pain, dissatisfaction and hearts to the government when they come short of expectations.”
However, he pointed out that for a successful protest to take place, there must be leader(s) who volunteer to lead and be responsible for its coordination because an uncoordinated protest will always lead to the destruction of lives and properties. So, the first step is to plan on how the protests will be well coordinated.
Eric Famogun referenced the 2020 EndSars protest where many youth leaders blamed themselves for not deeply monitoring the protest due to the eventualities that emanated after the protest, he advised that Ondo youths should not allow such to happen again.
His words “It is of utmost importance that we make our neighbourhood safe, keep our roads in good shape, and desist from inflicting more hardship on people.
“The number of lives lost, the roads that got spoilt and the buildings that got burnt in Ondo city are major losses that we can’t recover from in a hurry.
“Our losses are always more than our gains. It is important we carefully use our tongues to count our teeths” he added.
