A 24-year-old man in possession of human parts has been arrested by police officers attached to Funmbi-Fagun Police Station in Ondo town.
The suspect who has been identified as Franklin Akinyosoye was detained at the station and interrogated by the anti-crime section of the station on his involvement in the scheme that brought human body parts into his possession.
The incident which happened in Elewuro area of Ondo town brought confusion into the vicinity as residents struggle to come to terms with the discovery of human body parts and how the suspect got them.
According to information gathered, it was learnt that a severed human head was discovered in a sac inside the compound by the landlord’s children which made them to raise an alarm and the discovery was swiftly reported by the landlord at the station.
When the police searched the premises and the rented apartment of the suspect, several human parts and other items like charms, human blood were reportedly also discovered which led to the suspect’s arrest.
Reliable sources confirmed that the suspect confessed to be in possession of the human body parts and other items during interrogation by the police.
The sources claimed that the suspect confessed to the police that he brought the human parts and other items from Ikirun in Osun state where his herbalist resides.
Reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya confirmed that the suspect was arrested with human parts. She added that investigations would be conducted to reveal everything about the incident.
She said “One Franklin Akinyosoye, male, 26 years who claimed to be a photographer and own a boutique in Ondo town was challenged by his landlord for keeping a bag in a corner of the compound.
“The landlord became suspicious and asked the young man to open the bag, and when he did, a human skull was found in the bag, thereafter he was arrested, he claimed it was given to him by a native doctor in Osun State to enhance his business.”
