The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a middle aged man, Bankole Oginni for allegedly killing his Lover.
The incident occured at Oke Aro area in Akure, where the lifeless body of the lady was discovered in the suspect’s room with hands and legs bounded and some of her organs already removed.
Oginni, who was arrested by men of Nigerian Police Force, B-Division, Oke-Aro Akure after the victim was found in his room has been detained and interrogated over his role in the torturous death of his lover.
He was said to have called the victim and invited her to his house for a visit. Not long after the victim had left her house, her mobile phone became unreachable which raised concerns about her whereabout and safety.
The case was reported to the police which led the security officers to pay a visit to Oginni’s residence where the deceased was found with her legs and hands tied with her body cut open and her intestines missing.
Materials like a knife and sac were found beside the decease, probably aimed at dismantling the corpse and packed inside the bag before the suspect was apprehended.
Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya revealed that a lady reported the case at Oke-Aro Police station which led to the arrest of the suspect.
She said “After she left her house, she did not return and her phone was switched off. She later traced her mother to the ex-lover’s house, only to find her lifeless body in the room, with her legs and hands tied and her body opened with intestines removed.”
She also confirmed that the suspect is in police custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary.
