A Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey has surpassed the current Guinness World Record time for the longest interrupted cooking and is well on her way to writing her name on the book of history makers.
Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as “Hilda Baci” began her cooking marathon on Thursday when she turned on her cooker at 4pm and has already surpassed the current world record of 87 hours 45 minutes on Monday morning.
Baci’s cooking marathon is still ongoing at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State where she intends to set a new record of 96 hours of interrupted cooking.
If certified by the Guinness World Record, Hilda Baci will displace Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who achieved the feat in 2019 with the time of 87 hours 45 minutes of uninterrupted cooking.
She will also be joining an illustrious list of other Nigerians who have written their names through record breaking actions.
