Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State has gotten the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence the study of Bsc Nursing Science and Bsc Applied Geology programmes from the 2023/2024 academic session.
According to a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Paul Adeagbo, the approval was contained in a letter addressed to the institution’s Vice-Chancellor dated 13th June, 2023.
It read “The NUC approval to commence the programmes is contained in a letter addressed to the OAUSTECH’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Emmanuel Ologunorisa dated 13th June, 2023 and signed, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission, by the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. B. N. Saliu.”
“The approval letter referenced NUC/AP/S24/Vol.1/83 stated that: The Vice-Chancellor is please invited to recall that a resource verification visit was carried out by panels of experts to some proposed programmes in Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa with a view to assessing the human and materials resources available for their establishment.”
“I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the following programmes to be run in the Main Campus of the University with effect from the 2023/2024 academic session: 1. Bsc Applied Geology and 2. Bsc Nursing Science.”
It also expressed the institution’s readiness to commence the approved courses and called on prospective candidates to start applying for the courses.
“The excited VC, who received the letter in Abuja on Friday, said all is set for the commencement of the Bsc Nursing Science and Bsc Applied Geology programmes in September this year. He is therefore advising prospective candidates to change to OAUSTECH on JAMB portal to apply for the programmes.
“He hinted that OAUSTECH is fully prepared to welcome the pioneer students into the newly approved programmes, assuring that the institution would continue to fulfill its mandate in terms of high quality teaching, cutting edge research and strategic community engagement.”
