The Ondo State Government, ODSG has concluded partnership agreement with the Nigerian-German Centre for Migration and Development(GIZ-ZME) on a four-week training for five hundred Ondo state youths on high demand tech skills.
According to the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on ICT, Tomide Akinribido, the training which will take place across four major locations; Akure, Okitipupa, Ondo and Owo will hold for four weeks and aim to equip the participants with sufficient knowledge and skills in their chosen class.
He said “The ICT skills available for the participants to choose from include; Digital Analytics, Front end Development, Python Programming and Back end Development.
“The GIZ-ZME is a global programme commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, with special focus on sustainable economic development.
“In line with the policy thrust of the Governor Aiyedatiwa administration, OUR-EASE, with letter “R” indicating Revolutionary Technological Advancement and Industrialization, our youths are crucial for digital transformation, acting as both digital natives and driving innovation.
“To leverage their potential, Ondo state youths need digital skills, access to technology, and securing remote job opportunities to participate in shaping the digital future, enhance digital literacy and boost the digital economy of the state.
“In light of this, the Ondo State Information Technology Agency(SITA) and office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Youth Empowerment & Job Creation will work together to bridge the digital divide among Ondo state youths, starting with collaboration on ICT trainings such as this.
“Online Registration for the training programme will commence on Monday, March 24th 2025, while the training will be flagged off on April 23rd 2025.”
