The football loving kingdom of Ondo will be a centre of excitement and display of football artistry as the second edition of the Franklin Sasere Invitational Football Tournament takes centre stage from Sunday 21st May 2023.
The invitational tournament which is scheduled to begin on May 21st and end on June 4th will be held at the Ondo township stadium is the brainchild of Switzerland based Nigerian Footballer, Franklin Sasere.
Fanklin Olanitori Sasere is a 24 year old centre forward currently on the books of FC Vaduz hosted the inaugural edition of the tournament and the second edition promised to be more exciting than the former with more teams added to the roster.
With prestigious football clubs from across the state joining home based teams in Ondo town for the tournament, it promises to be a period of fun for football lovers in the community as they get to watch the best grassroot footballers and their teams battle for the top prize.
The teams participating in the tournament include Able God FC (Ondo), Dmark Tigers FC (Ondo), Zion Warriors FC (Ondo), Ekimogun United FC (Ondo), Opeyemi International FA (Ore), Heritage FA (Ile-Oluji), Wonder Xchange FC and Akure Elite FC (Akure).
Group A is made up of Able God FC, Dmark Tigers, Ekimogun United FC and Heritage FA while Group B is made up of Akure Elite FC, Opeyemi International FA, Wonder Xchange FC and Zion Warriors FC.
