Youths of Ondo Kingdom in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State have announced plans to embark on a massive warning protest against unwarranted hardship suffered by residents of the community.
The Youths who made the announcement through their social media platforms declared that they will be taking over the roads and streets of the community to send a message of their discomfort to concerned bodies.
According to a statement signed by the Vice President of Ondo Ekimogun Youths Congress, Comrade Igbekoyi Kayode, Youths in Ondo kingdom have decided to embark on a peaceful protest to warn those whose actions are worsening the level of hardship in the community.
It read “This is to inform entire Ondo youths, stakeholders, residents and everyone affected by the current unwarranted hardships being witnessed in Ondo city that there will be a peaceful warning protest.
“The date is Wednesday 24th April 2024 and time is 8am prompt. The meeting point is Oba Adesanoye Civic Center.
They highlighted important commodities and services which have become unavailable to the people because of exorbitant prices and poor supply.
“We are protesting against high price of food items in Ondo city, high price of fuel (Petrol, Gas, Diesel), Poor Electricity Supply, high cost of commodities, wares, goods and services etc.
“Ondo Youths say no to oppression, exploitation and poverty in Ondo kingdom Ondo o nibaje. Aigho yo dudo a gbe wa.”
