Nigeria’s football superstars, Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala have been nominated in the male and female categories of the Ballon d’or awards.
They join other footballers on the exclusive list of thirty nominees per category who will be vying to named the best male and female footballers in the world.
The news of their nominations has been well received by football lovers across Nigeria who have continued to celebrate the historic nomination of both players in the same year.
Victor Osimhen will be up against the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Mohammed Salah and others to see how high he can be on the thirty man shortlist.
Asisat Oshoala will also be up against the likes of Aitana Bonmati, Linda Caicedo, Olga Carmona, Sam Kerr, Alexandra Popp and others to see how high she can go on the thirty woman shortlist.
