An attempted robbery of a bank in Lagos State has been foiled by men of the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Police Command.
The bank which is located at opposite Maplewood Estate in Oko Oba area of Lagos State was targeted by robbers in the wee hours of Sunday but the attempt was unsuccessful thanks to the prompt intervention of officers of the Lagos State Police Command.
According to reports, the suspects were attempting the breakdown security doors in order to gain entry into the bank when men of the state police command arrived at the scene to disrupt the attempt.
The robbery was unsuccessful and one of the criminals was reportedly apprehended by the security officers.
Responding to the incident of social media platform Twitter/X, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the incident took place and added that the police will continue to fight crime and criminals in the state.
He said “We got the distress call at 4:20 am and responded swiftly. Keeping Lagos State safe and secured is a task we are not relenting at.”
