A Lagos High Court has sentenced a policeman to death for shooting and killing a pregnant lawyer.
The Lagos High Court Sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island, on Monday, sentenced the suspended Assistant Superintendent of Police, Drambi Vandi, to death by hanging for his role in the tragic death of the female lawyer.
ASP Drambi Vandi was accused of killing a Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem by shooting her from close range and arraigned in court to determine his role in the tragic incident.
The Judge, Justice Ibironke Harrison sentenced ASP Drambi Vandi after finding him guilty of the charges levelled against him.
Justice Harrison held that the prosecution was able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt which formed the basis for the judgement delivered.
