Spanish and European giant, Real Madrid CF have lifted the 2023 Spanish Super Cup after defeating their bitter rival FC Barcelona 4-1 in the final match on Sunday.
Real Madrid, who enjoyed the services of their Brazilian forwards, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo put on a show that ultimately landed them the title in Saudi Arabia.
Vinicius Junior scored a first half hat trick to hand the Los Blancos a 3-1 lead as early as the 39th minute of the encounter.
Brazilian forward, Rodrygo added another goal to the scoreline in the 64th minute to put the match beyond the hapless Catalans.
FC Barcelona were soon reduced to ten men after Ronald Araujo was sent off after receiving his second yellow card of the match.
Real Madrid went on to secure a 4-1 victory which earned them their thirteenth Spanish Super Cup title while their eternal rivals watch on in agony.
They will be hoping to make a winning return to Spanish league action with the intention of opening a gap on Girona FC who played a barren draw against bottom placed Almeria while Real Madrid were away in Saudi Arabia.
