Member, representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Abiola Peter Makinde PH.D, has supported members of his constituency with food packs in celebration of Christmas and new year.
The distribution of the food packs was held alongside the annual thanksgiving by the lawmaker at Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre, Ondo.
Speaking during the programme, Honourable Makinde, said “Every thanksgiving, my family and I gather to celebrate and give praises to God for his enduring mercies. We come together to honour a long-standing tradition rooted in gratitude and compassion.
“Coming together year after year is a testament to the enduring bonds that tie us with our people and how genuinely grateful we are.
“This annual thanksgiving provides us with a sacred opportunity to pause, reflect, and express appreciation for the warmth and love that surround us.”
He stated further that:”The celebration extends beyond the confines of our home. Giving back to the community becomes an integral part of our thanksgiving.
“Recognizing the privilege we have, we strive to share our abundance with those who are less privileged.
“It is a humbling experience that reinforces the values of empathy and generosity, teaching us that the true essence of Thanksgiving lies not only in the joy of receiving but in the profound fulfillment of giving back to those in need.
“I wish all my family, friends, colleagues, and constituents a happy celebration, and may the year ahead be filled with exciting surprises,” he noted.
In attendance were member representing Ondo West Constituency 1, in the State House of Assembly,Hon. Taiwo Ogunwumiju Moyinolorun, member representing Ondo West 2, Hon. Biola Oladapo, leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), political leaders across the constituency and other religious leaders among other dignitaries.
