Sunshine Stars Fall In Enugu As Their Poor Form Continues

Ondo State’s sole representative in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Sunshine Stars of Akure fell to embarrassing 3-0 loss on the road against Rangers of Enugu in their week 26 clash.

The Owena Whales as they are popularly known are now in danger of getting relegated to the second division if their form does not improve soon.

Three first half goals from Bashiru Usman, Joel Odoh and Kingsley Maduforo were enough for the league’s defensive champions, Rangers to steamroll their visitors and secure all three points with a clean sheet.

Sunshine Stars currently occupy 18th position on the log with 28 points from 26 matches and have managed to pick only four points from their last six matches, winning one, drawing one and losing four of those matches.

Their away form in the league has been terrible this season as they have managed to secure only one win in their last twelve matches. They also managed only one draw during the period.

With twelve matches left for the Akure Gunners in the NPFL this season, they have ample time to turn their season around but need to start picking up more wins to avoid ending the season with a relegation tag added to their name.
