The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be going up against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in a crunch encounter with the Nigerians hoping to secure their place in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The match will be taking place by 8:00 pm Nigerian time at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast will have Nigeria punch their ticket to the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations in Morocco if rhey are able to avoid defeat.

The Super Eagles led by Augustine Eguavoen are top of Group D with 10 points while the Cheetahs of Benin Republic are second with 6 points with only two rounds of matches to be played.

If the Super Eagles win or at least secure a draw in tonight’s encounter, they will definitely be on the plane to Morocco for Africa’s biggest football fiesta.

The Super Eagles’ camp is buzzing with global football talents that have been invited by Augustine Eguavoen for today’s match against Benin Republic and their last group match against Rwanda which will be played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

With players like Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, William Troost-Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Nwabali, Kelechi Iheanacho, Calvin Bassey and others available for selections, Augustine Eguavoen will have enough firepower to shoot down the Cheetahs in Ivory Coast.

However, the Super Eagles are wary of the danger that the Benin Republic side possess with former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr securing a 2-1 win for the Cheetah when Nigeria played them in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

Even though the Super Eagles got a resounding 3-0 victory when they met in Nigeria for the first leg of the AFCON qualifier match, they will be wary of the damage Gernot Rohr and his team can do to the Super Eagles’ ambitions.
