Akure, the Ondo state capital was thrown into confusion as a popular socialite and owner of Klass Five Hotel, Adesoji Johnson Adeleye, was assassinated in the early hour of Tuesday at his hotel in Arakale area of the capital city.
According to reports, Adeleye was asleep in one of the rooms in the hotel when he was gruesomely killed by assailants suspected to be assassins.
The armed men reportedly found their way into the hotel premises, overpowered the hotel owners and stabbed the deceased repeatedly before he died in the pool of his blood.
A source claimed that the incident was reported to the police while detectives from the State Police Command visited the scene of the incident and took the remains of the deceased to the morgue while some people are being questioned over the incident.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Alexander Olayinka said the deceased was killed in his hotel premises.
He said “We have sent a team of detectives to the place and we are on the trail of the perpetrators and as soon as we apprehend them, they will be brought to book.”
