Men of the Nigerian Police in Kogi State have arrested a teenager for allegedly attempting to bury his step-brother alive.
The suspect, 19-year-old Goodness Oshodi was apprehended by the policemen for attempting to bury his step-brother, Friday Oshodi alive.
The incident which took place on Tuesday evening in Apamisede in Adavi local government area of Kogi state drew the attention of neighbors who intervened and rescued the victim before he was buried alive.
According to reports, his mother had instructed Goodness Oshodi to discipline Friday Oshodi for allegedly stealing N10,000 and he took laws into his own hands by severely beating Friday before attempting to bury him alive.
Explaining his actions, Goodness Oshodi stated that he merely followed his mother’s instructions to punish his step brother for stealing.
Reacting to the incident, the state police public relations officer, SP William Aya confirmed the incident and revealed the suspect has been arrested and undergoing interrogation.
He said “Yes, we are aware. The boy has been arrested, investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen.”
