Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have neutralised insurgents who are members of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram insurgents during a renewed attack in the Sambisa Forest.
According to a statement by the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, the leadership of Operation Hadin Kai noted that the mission was in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s renewed directive for aggressive operations against terrorists.
The operation was carried out in Ladin Buttu, a popular terrorist hideout within the forest, where the troops neutralised the terrorists, leaving several insurgents injured.
The troops also recovered various weapons and other military ordnance from the scene.
The statement read “In a renewed offensive against ISWAP/BokoHaram terrorists hibernating within the Sambisa Forest, troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have launched a successful operation on May 11, 2025.
During the operation in Ladin Buttu, which is one of the key terrorist enclaves, troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce battle, leveraging their superior firepower and dexterity to neutralize several terrorists. The troops also recovered weapons and other ordnance.
“Further operations in the area revealed signs of blood on the terrorists’ withdrawal routes, indicating that those who escaped suffered gunshot wounds. Ladin Buttu is a strategic location for the insurgents, allowing them to coordinate logistics and move within the forest.
“Operations HADIN KAI leadership commended the troops for their bravery and tactical prowess, noting that the exploit aligns with the recent operational directives of the Chief of Army Staff for invigorating offensive operations on all fronts.”
