The suspect accused of killing his former lover and removing her organs in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Bankole Oginni has revealed that he was not responsible for the deceased’s death.
He however confessed to cutting her body open and removing her organs in a bid to make it easier for him to dispose her lifeless body without been caught.
Speaking on the circumstances surrounding the death, Oginni denied being responsible for the deceased’s death. He claimed that the deceased slump when she visited him for financial assistance.
He explained that he did not kill his ex-lover, he only tied her up and removed her intestines after she had slumped and died because he was scared and acted irrationally.
He said,”the deceased called me on Saturday that she needed my help, being my ex-lover and I asked her to come to my daddy’s house. I have been helping her for a long time whether she needs money even though she is her ex. So, when she asked me for money, I asked her to come to my daddy’s house.”
Oginni revealed that when she came, he bought coke for her and she had not drank the coke when she slumped and died. He added that he took the decision to remove her intestines and other body parts in order to hide her body because he was scared.
“The moment she got there on the fateful day, I offered her a chilled soft drink I bought from a shop.
“I bought two bottles and I offered her one. But she had not taken the drink when she suddenly collapsed and died instantly.
He admitted to tying her up, removing her intestines and other part of her body and wanted to dismember her body so that he will not get caught.
“When she slumped, I did not know what to do. So I decided to pour her hot water with the hope that she would wake up.
“After all attempts to revive her failed, out of panic, I ripped her stomach to remove her intestines so as to reduce the size of her remains in sack.
“I tied her hands and cut her so that I could throw her away.”
