The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) under the leadership of Nyemson Wike has issued a formal notice revoking the Right of Occupancy for the land housing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to the official letter signed by Chijioke Nwankwoeze, Director of Land Administration, the revocation affects Plot No. 243 within the Central Area (A00) District, Abuja.
According to the letter, the decision was made due to PDP’s failure to pay annual ground rent for 20 years—from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025.
The notice cites violations of Section 28, Subsection 5(a) and (b) of the Land Use Act, emphasizing that repeated calls by the FCTA for all allottees to clear outstanding bills went unheeded.
As a result, the land has been reclaimed by the government, and immediate possession will be taken by the FCTA.
This development raises concerns over the fate of PDP’s National Secretariat, a key operational base for the opposition party.
There has been no official response from the PDP leadership regarding the revocation.
