A middle aged man simply identified as “Sunday” is in police net over his alleged complicity in the death of an eighty year old woman in Odigbo local government area of Ondo state.
His arrest was made in connection with the sudden disappearance of an eighty year old woman who was later found dead on her farm at Costain area of Ore in Odigbo local government area of Ondo state.
The suspect was reportedly arrested by youths in the community who had reportedly found the deceased’s mobile phone in his possession and handed him to the police for further investigation.
The villagers suspected that “Sunday” might have raped the deceased to death because of the way they met her lifeless body when it was discovered on the farm.
Reacting to the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo state, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the arrest of the palm wine tapper over the incident. She added that investigation was still ongoing and the suspect would be charged to court when investigations into the case are completed.”
