The owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Dr. Rahman Adedoyin has been sentenced to death over his alleged culpability in the murder of OAU post-graduate student,Timothy Adegoke in his hotel.
The judgement was delivered by the Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Ojo on Tuesday directing that Dr. Rahman Adedoyin should die by hanging for his roles in the disappearance and murder of the late Timothy Adegoke.
The Chief Judge in her judgement declared that based on the circumstances of the case established by the prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana, SAN, the hotel owner and two of his workers are found culpable of conspiracy to commit murder and unlawful killing the deceased.
The late Adegoke had lodged in Hilton Hotels and Resorts at Ile-Ife upon his arrival from Abuja on November 5, 2021 in order to write an examination slated for November 6 and November 7, 2021.
He later went missing under strange circumstances and was later found dead and buried in a grave following a police investigation into his disappearance.
The hotel owner, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, and two of his staff, Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem have all been sentenced to death by hanging while the sentencing of the receptionist on duty when Timothy Adegoke arrived at the facility, Adedeji Adesola, has been delayed until Wednesday.
