The leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have announced the suspension of their planned nationwide strike which which was planned as a form of protest against the decision of the federal government to abruptly end the payment of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in the country.
They made the announcement after their meeting with representatives of the federal government at the Presidential Villa on Monday.
The union announced that some measures had been put in place by the government and an agreement was reached by both sides for the strike to be suspended.
