The immediate past governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has succeeded Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
His emergence as the national chairman was ratified at the National Executive Caucus (NEC) meeting of the ruling party in Abuja on Thursday.
The emergence of Ganduje has been discussed by party leaders since Senator Adamu left in July and the party started it’s search for his successor.
President Bola Tinubu had reportedly favoured Abdullahi Ganduje to take over the vacant seat of the party Chairman and oversee the affairs of the party.
The National Caucus of the All Progressives Congress had also recommended the immediate past spokesperson for the Senate, Senator Ajibola Basiru as the acting National Secretary.
Congratulatory messages have been trooping in for the new party leaders from across the country. Party supporters also besieged their national secretariat to celebrate Abdullahi Ganduje’s emergence.
