A prominent member of a faction within the Labour Party (LP) has revealed plans to expel key figures from the political party.
Abayomi Arabambi revealed that the key figures include the party’s presidential candidate during the 2023 Presidential election, Peter Obi and Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
In a recent interview on TVC, Arabambi accused Obi and Otti of causing internal strife within the party and prioritizing personal political ambitions over the party’s unity.
He said “These individuals are focused solely on their own interests. We won’t allow them to disrupt the Labour Party.”
He also reaffirmed that Julius Abure remains the legitimate National Chairman of the party, despite claims from other factions.
Arabambi insisted that the Supreme Court had not issued a ruling against Abure’s position.
He said “The National Convention will resolve everything. Peter Obi, Governor Otti, and others already suspended will be expelled without hesitation.”
He also criticized the leader of the faction making the allegations, Nenadi Usman. He described her as an outsider with no authority to make such accusations.
“She led Obi’s Obidient movement but isn’t even a registered member of the Labour Party. How can someone who isn’t part of us issue disciplinary threats?”
