In a significant boost to urban security, the Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of 30-year-old Dare Shogaolu, a notorious individual commonly known as “Super M.”
The arrest took place during a proactive stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area, a move aimed at curbing the recent uptick in criminal disturbances within the neighborhood.
The apprehension occurred on the night of March 5, 2026, when the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of the Mushin Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, intercepted Shogaolu along the LUTH Road axis.
Officers became suspicious of the suspect’s behavior as he carried a distinctive white and orange-yellow polythene bag, prompting an immediate intervention.
Upon searching the bag, police recovered a locally made pistol, which served as the primary evidence for his detention.
In addition to the firearm, the operatives discovered a black leather purse, assorted charms, and three pairs of slippers. These items have been processed as exhibits while the suspect remains in custody.
Preliminary findings by the Command suggest that Shogaolu is a repeat offender linked to various criminal activities and public disturbances that have unsettled Mushin residents.
Investigators are currently working to dismantle his wider network, with intensified efforts underway to track down and arrest his remaining accomplices.
Reiterating the force’s stance on public safety, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, emphasized that the Command will maintain its “proactive policing” strategy.
He assured residents that the police remain committed to sanitizing the state and ensuring a secure environment for all citizens.
