A former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola has advised the current Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke to reject attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lure him away from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Oyinlola warned that making such a decision could damage his political career while reacting to Governor Adeleke’s recent endorsement of President Bola Tinubu of the APC for re-election in 2027.
He made this known during an interview aired on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday.
“APC has not fared well with the people of Osun. Telling him to roll over to APC will mean ruining his political future. Obviously, the people will not go along with that. He knows that, but there is pressure on him.”
“It’s now six months since the local government allocation in Osun state has been withheld.
“This means the people have been shortchanged because the local government is no longer running.”
Oyinlola called on Governor Adeleke to prioritize his responsibilities to the electorate by delivering good governance to the people of Osun state.
“As governor, whom the people have reposed their confidence in to govern them well, he must do something to ensure that the government is running well.”
