Gunmen have reportedly abducted three individuals at a farm settlement in Kajola, Ilu-Abo, located within the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The victims were seized at a location approximately five kilometers from the Akure Airport. Among those taken is Joseph Kayode Aladesuyi, a prominent politician and the Secretary of the Okeluju Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Aladesuyi, a native of Irun-Akoko in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area, is also the Chief Executive Officer of JOTINA Farms. His dual role as a public official and an agribusiness leader makes him a notable figure in the region. Witnesses suggest his professional activities on the farm may have been the primary target of the raid.
According to local sources, the attack was carried out by a group of roughly ten armed kidnappers who stormed the farmland unexpectedly. During the violent encounter, the gunmen reportedly shot Aladesuyi before forcibly whisking him and two other unidentified individuals away into the surrounding bush. The current health status of the council official following the shooting remains unknown.
As of the current reporting period, the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has not yet released an official statement regarding the kidnapping.
