The Supervisor for Education, Information and Social Services in Ondo West Local Government, Hon. Michael Akinduro, has lauded the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his unwavering commitment to promoting excellence in the education sector through the recognition and reward of outstanding students, teachers and exceptional National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members across the state.
Akinduro described the governor’s approval of automatic employment for distinguished NYSC award recipients and the presentation of cash rewards to deserving students, teachers and corps members as a demonstration of the administration’s resolve to encourage merit, hard work, and dedication under the OUR EASE Agenda.
He noted that the governor’s decision sends a strong message that excellence will always be rewarded in Ondo State, adding that the initiative would inspire students, educators and young professionals to strive for greater accomplishments in their academic and professional pursuits.
The education supervisor expressed particular pride that one of the students honoured by the state is an indigene of Ondo West Local Government who represented Nigeria at the 2025 World Olympiad Competition in Paris, France.
According to him, the student’s remarkable achievement has brought pride and honour to both Ondo West and Ondo State.
He said the recognition accorded to the award recipients would serve as a source of motivation for other young people across the state to embrace diligence, discipline and academic excellence, stressing that investment in education remains one of the most effective ways to secure the future of society.
Akinduro also commended the Ondo State Government for recognising the vital roles played by teachers and NYSC members in shaping the lives of young people, describing the gesture as a clear indication that every stakeholder contributing to educational development is valued by the present administration.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritising educational advancement and human capital development, noting that the administration’s support for excellence would further strengthen the state’s reputation as a centre for academic achievement and innovation.
The Ondo West education supervisor prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength and good health for Governor Aiyedatiwa as he continues to lead the state. He expressed confidence that the administration would sustain policies and programmes that promote quality education, youth empowerment and the overall development of Ondo State.
